HEAT THERAPY/COLD THERAPY

Paraffin-ozocerite therapy

This is a local surface heat procedure, used as local wraps for curing chronic joint and muscular diseases, occasionally also as post-traumatic cure or just for softening muscles before massage or physiotherapy. The procedure has analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect, it improves blood circulation in skin and in the hypodermic tissues, reflectively expanding subcutaneous capillaries located deeper in muscles and joints. This improves blood circulation, relieves pain and decreases muscle tension.
Adding ozocerite i.e. natural mountain wax to paraffin keeps the mixture warm for longer. The essential oils contained in ozocerite have curative effect.
Depending on the doctor’s prescription, the temperature of paraffin and ozocerite mixture used for therapy is kept at the following temperature ranges: 39-40°C, 40-42°C or 42-44°C.

Paraffin mask for hands and feet (paraffin gloves and paraffin socks)

This is a warming skin treatment procedure which improves blood circulation and local metabolism. Paraffin mask in this form decreases pain in finger and toe joints and in small acropodium and sole muscles and tendons. The procedure is good for curing the cracked skin on fingers or soles which often appear in the older age.

Cold application

The local cold therapy is used in cases of acute arthritis and myositis, fresh traumas and burns. Cell receptors are directly influenced by cold which has an analgesic effect. For this procedure special gel-filled packages, stored at minus 12 degrees, wrapped in textile and placed on the sore spot for 10 – 15 minutes, are used.

Water therapy (herbal baths, bubble baths, pressure massage in bath)

Water therapy improves blood circulation and muscular tonicity and decreases excess tension. It is suitable for curing rheumatism, arthritis, sleep and metabolism disorders, back pains, kidney disorders, migraine and stress, as well as problems with neural and cardiovascular circulation systems. Depending on the nature of the procedure (temperature of water, strength of the air or water jet in the bath, substances added to the water: essential oils, mineral salts), effect of the water is either inhibitory or stimulating, relaxing or invigorating.
We are using warm freshwater baths (temperature at 36-38°C) to which appropriate herbal extracts are added. While selecting the procedure, different effects of herbs, making the procedure even more pleasant and effective, are taken into account. Procedure lasts 10 – 15 min.

MASSAGES

Classical or Swedish massage

Massage is a good method for relaxing body and spirit. It activates blood and lymph circulation, increases metabolism, removes toxins from muscles, improves mood, restores lost energy and relieves stress.
For curative purposes massage is used for treating cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, for vertebral column and joint diseases, neuritis and radiculitis. Massage plays an important part in treatment of paralysis and in post-traumatic treatments. Massage is carried out either dry or by using oils.

Sole massage

Acupressure or sole massage is a massage that uses fingers to exert pressure on bioactive points on the sole, which nowadays, in the era of shuffling slippers, have become neglected. A 15-minute massage is relaxing and pleasant and has an effect on the whole organism – it helps to relieve stress, cures chronic diseases, improves blood pressure, stimulates metabolism, relieves pain and relaxes body.

Lymph massage

Soft massage influences skin and hypodermic tissues and is used for stimulating the circulation of lymph liquids, prompting the removal of toxins from body.
Lymph massage restores organism’s resistance, relaxes and relieves muscle tension, helps in case of edema, blood circulation and metabolism disorders and is beneficial for the nervous system – it gives good results in case of stress, sleep disorders and depression.
The procedure is used for relieving varicose veins and edema caused by lymphatic contraction or by pregnancy. It is especially useful after medical operation in the course of which some lymph nodes have been removed and also for preventing or relieving post-traumatic edema.

Aroma massage

Aroma massage is a gentle massage with essential oils, providing a true sensation both for the mind and body. Each essential oil has its specific impact – calming, invigorating, analgesic or stimulating metabolism.
Skillful selection of essential oils and slow stroking movements relieve problems like muscular tension and muscular pain, cellulite, stress, sleep disorders, fluctuating blood pressure, menopausal complaints or moodiness.
Essential oils that strengthen the immune system are retained in a patient’s organism for up to 72 hours, rejuvenating tissues and improving the elasticity of skin.

Joint massage

Joint massage is a medical procedure that includes:
• special treatment of joints (passive gymnastics etc) by a physiotherapist
• opening energy channels by acupressure
• introductory and concluding classical massage.
You can choose either a short massage (20 minutes) or a longer massage (40 minutes), in the course of which all joints are treated.

Stone massage

Stone massage is a healing method based on oriental teaching for achieving balance between mind and body. The procedure combines massaging energy centres or chackras with stones and hands and influencing them with semi-precious stones.
Warm lava stones, heated in advance, are placed on the body. When in contact with skin, they start passing heat and energy from sun, thus removing muscle tension, expanding blood vessels, regulating digestion, metabolism and hormonal systems. The heat also opens energy channels and releases energy blocks, as a result of which the tonicity of the whole organism increases and energies become balanced.
Lava stone massage is a deeply relaxing procedure. Feelings of harmony and wellbeing are released inside the patient, who starts feeling calmer and breathe deeper, skin tonicity and elasticity are improved and tiredness and stress collected in body disappear. Additionally, tension and worries are also relieved.

Honey massage

Honey massage is one of the curative massages from ancient Tibet.
In this procedure honey is used as an adhesive substance with the help of which it is possible to remove from the organism “contaminated” energy. By being imbibed through the skin honey passes on its good curative powers. As an end result, physical form and metabolism improves and energy channels become cleansed. Honey massage enhances digestion and absorption of nutrients and also trims the skin.
Honey massage is very suitable for persons suffering from pack pain, arthritis, colds, metabolism disorders and cellulite.
The procedure is contraindicative for people who are allergic to honey.

Ayurveda massage

Ayurveda is an ancient Indian medical system that is based on the balance of three opposing types. Ayurveda massage is directed towards cleansing the organism and balancing these three types, thus relieving stress, increasing vitality, relaxing and calming. Massage is accompanied by diagnostics and by determining the patient’s type, which enables to be aware of your health condition at any moment.
Ayurveda massage is an oil massage (usually 200 ml of oil), in the course of which special herbal oils are used, prepared specifically according to the person’s type and indication.

PHYSIOTHERAPY

Doctor appoints suitable therapy for a specific patient from a range of direct currents with low or middle intensity. It is an effective pain reliever in case of acute arthritis and neuritis.

Impulse therapy

This therapy uses direct current with low intensity, which has an analgesic effect. It effectively relieves pain in cases of acute arthritis and neuritis and is used for treating post-traumatic conditions and strains of ligaments and muscles.

Darsonval treatment

This therapy uses high frequency impulse current for local treatment, improving blood and lymphatic circulation and metabolism of tissues. It also relieves pain and relaxes and calms muscular tension.

Magnetic therapy

Therapy uses low frequency magnetic field which influences tissues up to the depth of 4 – 5 cm. Magnetic therapy improves blood circulation and metabolism of tissues, decreases edema, speeds up absorption of blood clots and enhances recuperation of bone fractures. It is used for treating trophic ulcers and phlebitis, in post-traumatic therapy and for treating arthritis and myocitis, peripheral neuro-pathologies and chronic skin diseases.

Ultrasound treatment

Ultrasound is a high frequency low intensity sound which is used for therapeutic purposes. Procedure is local, warming and analgesic. It is suitable for joint, neural, tendon and muscular diseases, it improves tissue nutrition in cases of post-traumatic conditions and trophic ulcers. In order to improve its effect even further, the ultrasound treatment is often carried out in combination with various potions or gels.

Inhalation

Effective medical procedure for a multitude of respiratory diseases, for decreasing inflammation and for expectoration. During the procedure an aerosol medical substance prescribed by the doctor is inhaled through a special inhalator. According to necessity, the medical substance could be expectorant, relaxing respiratory tract or just a humectant or a calming substance.

Laser therapy

Laser therapy is analgesic, anti-inflammatory and reduces allergic hypersensitivity. As an impact of laser beams, the blood circulation and metabolism of tissues is improved, sensitivity of nerve endings is decreased, edema is reduced. Laser therapy gives good results in treating arthritis, myositis and tendinous inflammations and post-traumatic conditions, as well as in curing trophic ulcers and phlebitis.

Ambulatory therapy

Ambulatory therapy is an active medical treatment where success depends directly on the patient. Ambulatory therapy is carried out either individually or in small groups, either indoors or outdoors, by an instructor who has received special training. Ambulatory treatment is especially important for patients with heart disease, arthritis, vertebral disease and paralysis, as well as after traumas and medical operations.
- Morning exercise: Day starts with a 10-minute invigorating exercise outdoors. Everybody willing to participate may do so.
- Curative gymnastics: Curative gymnastics offers various sets of different physical exercises, depending on the patient’s disease and general health condition. Therapy is carried out either individually or in a group (8 –12 persons).
- Stick walking: Walking with sticks trains shoulder, arm and breast muscles, helps to release neck and shoulder pain, is good for joint diseases and for persons who spend most of their time sitting, as it employs degenerated muscle groups.
- Dosed walking: it is especially suitable for patients with heart disease. Walking speed and length of distance to be covered is prescribed on an individual basis according to patient’s load tolerance. Walking is instructed by a physiotherapist, who is monitoring the patient’s condition.

Relaxation

In the course of relaxation session a pleasant feeling of satisfaction and warmth and heaviness in the whole body is achieved. In the course of relaxation training it is possible to obtain the so-called relaxation-skill – an ability to inspire relaxation condition in situations where it is necessary to decrease the impact of negative emotions or just to rest. Training sessions give good results in case of sleep disorders, tension headaches and migraines, in lowering heightened blood pressure and for restoring spiritual balance after traumatic experiences.
